Kitty Hawk technologies named Innovator of the Year

HAWLEY, PA — Kitty Hawk Technologies was named the 2018 Innovator of the Year by the Wayne Economic Development Corporation (WEDCO).

Robert Suhosky accepted the award on behalf of Kitty Hawk Technologies at a luncheon held by WEDCO November 16, at The Settlers Inn in Hawley.

Kitty Hawk Technologies is a small engineering consulting business that works with multiple Department of Defense (DoD) customers. “The company is a key supporter of the DoD’s capability to counteract North Korea’s missile testing program,” according to a WEDCO press release. “With technical services being performed in Dahlgren, VA, Washington, D.C. and Huntsville, AL, Kitty Hawk’s Honesdale office is leveraging advanced information technology and adaptive procedures in order to manage those efforts remotely while maintaining the highest levels of quality to its customers.”

WEDCO President Steve Clark said having a defense consulting company located in Honesdale is a sign of how computer and internet technology is making geography less important than in the past. “Kitty Hawk’s presence is tangible evidence of why rural areas must pursue high-speed broadband and why WEDCO can and should market Wayne County as a place with the business infrastructure to succeed and the lifestyle you deserve.”
