HONESDALE, PA — A Honesdale couple was arrested with a large amount of drugs and cash on September 21. Police were summoned to the residence on 11th Street because of a domestic disturbance. When police went inside the house, they discovered it was filled with a haze of marijuana smoke, and a seven-year-old child was in the home. Shannon Dawn Duffy, 32, consented to a search of the home, and they found the drugs.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, police found approximately 7,000 doses of LSD, approximately one pound of marijuana, two bags of mushrooms, approximately 45 grams of Molly, 41 edible marijuana candy bars and $2,445.00 in cash.

Duffy and David Jacques, 22, were arrested and charged with numerous felony and misdemeanor counts, including possession with intent to deliver drugs.

District Attorney Patrick Robinson said, “The excellent police work of sergeant Keith Colombo and patrolman Chad Hankinson resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of illegal drugs and drug money. While the drugs seized did not include heroin or opioid-based pills, LSD and Molly (MDMA, also branded as Ecstasy) are extremely dangerous drugs. The street value of the drugs seized easily exceeds $40,000. Law enforcement in Wayne County will continue to be vigilant and proactive in an effort to catch and punish drug dealers to the fullest extent of the law.”
