DVAA building dedicated as Elaine Giguere Arts Center

NARROWSBURG, NY — Elaine Giguere, co-founder of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) in 1976 and executive director from 1978 to 2017, speaks at the ceremony commemorating the DVAA building as the Elaine Giguere Arts Center on Saturday, September 8. The one-time Arlington Hotel on Narrowsburg’s Main Street, a historic building that Giguere spoke of with some affection, has blossomed as an arts center under her leadership—though she did drop a reminder at the meeting that the building has two more floors yet to be developed. Also honored at the ceremony, in the form of pillar dedications, were longtime DVAA member and board president from 1995 to 2001 John Rizzotti; ceramicist Judith Leire; and artist and tireless volunteer for close to 30 years, Phyllis Billick.
