Wayne room-tax renewal scheduled

HONESDALE, PA — If your stay in Wayne County next year is in a yurt or a walled tent, you’re in luck.

However, if you periodically stay in just about any other private commercial lodging with a roof overhead, you are again going to be subject to the 3% Wayne County Hotel Room Excise Tax, better known as the hotel tax.

Baker announces office hours

PIKE COUNTY, PA — State Sen. Lisa Baker (R-20th) announced that Field Representative Andrew M. Seder will be available for consultation from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10 in the commissioners’ conference room of the Pike County Administration Building, 506 Broad St., Milford.

County to recycle Christmas trees

MONTICELLO, NY — Sullivan County residents, businesses and visitors are encouraged to recycle their Christmas trees at the end of the season.

For individuals with access to backyards and open spaces, strategically-placed, retired Christmas trees offer welcome cover during the winter months for birds and wildlife.
