Ruth Mary Finkbohner, 88, passed with peace and grace on May 29, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Honey Brook, PA. Ruth is predeceased by her loving husband, Alfred of 51 years in 1999; her son, Alfred C. Finkbohner who passed in 2002; and her son-in-law, Frank Kratz who passed in 2015. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Donna M. Kratz of Honey Brook, PA; daughter in-law, Janet Finkbohner of Middletown, NJ; her grandchildren, Brittany and Ashley Kratz, Dawn Raibick, Erin and Amy Finkbohner; and three great-grandchildren. Ruth is survived by two sisters, Lillian Bloxom and Helen Christiansen, and predeceased by two brothers, Chris and John Christiansen and a sister, Emily Buddenhagen.

Ruth was born in Jersey City and had resided in Newark, NJ and Narrowsburg, NY before moving to Hazlet 67 years ago. She worked as an electronics technician with Bendix Corporation and retired from Hoffer Flow Controls in 1993. Ruth was a charter member of the Sons of Norway Noreg Lodge and was an avid bowler. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting and was a devout bingo player.

A gathering of family and friends took place on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Rd, Middletown, NJ. A Celebration of Life will take place later in the summer in Narrowsburg, NY for family and local friends.
