BEACH LAKE, PA — The Upper Delaware Council’s 31st Annual Awards Ceremony on April 28 at Central House Family Resort in Beach Lake recognized the following people: U.S. Congressman Matt Cartwright, keynote speaker; Kris Gilbert and Danielle Besso from New York State Department of Transportation Region 9, Partnership Award for the Upper Delaware River Corridor Signage Improvement Project; Brandi Merolla, Tusten Energy Committee chair, Community Service Award; Pam Reinhardt of the Trout Unlimited Upper Delaware Chapter, Recreation Achievement Award for coordinating their Trout in the Classroom project; and Aaron Robinson of Shohola Township, 2018 UDC chairperson, Oaken Gavel Award; Steven Schwartz of Equinunk, PA, Volunteer Award; retired New York State Senator John J. Bonacic, Distinguished Service Award; NYS Department of Environmental Conservation Forest Ranger Richard Franke, Jr., Robin M. Daniels Memorial Lifesaving Award for rescuing 11 people from the Upper Delaware River on Aug. 4, 2018; and Wayne County Commissioners Brian Smith, Joseph Adams and Wendell Kay, Outstanding Community Achievement Award for their Save the Hankins Pond Dam effort.
