There's an error with the property tax bills in the Town of Tusten and residents are being asked not to pay their bills until the bills are corrected.
Town Supervisor Carol Wingert wrote in an email, "I am calling an emergency meeting of the Tusten Town Board for 6:15 p.m on January 4th, 2019, this evening. Meeting to be held in the offices of the Town Hall at 210 Bridge St. Narrowsburg, NY. This meeting is for the purpose of passing a resolution to rectify the clerical error that was made on the Tusten Tax Bills for 2019."
A post on the town website says, "An ERROR has been made on the Tusten TAX Bills. The Town is working diligently with the county & state to resolve this issue ASAP. DO NOT mail in your payment for the 2019 Property Taxes until further notice. New Bills & Notices will be sent out accordingly. Updates will be posted at www.TownofTusten.org Town of Tusten Facebook Page or call 845-252-7146 Prompt 9.
Thank You for your patience."
