Topping-off ceremony at waterpark

MONTICELLO, NY — The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark, which is on schedule to open in early 2019, celebrated the completion of the structural phase of the project with a topping-off ceremony on February 16.

Key members from the project, including representatives from The Kartrite, Aquatic Development Group and Suffolk Construction, were joined by the project’s construction workers to watch as the final steel beam, weighing 1,500 pounds and 37 feet long, was hoisted into place.

“It is fitting that we should take a moment to celebrate this monumental milestone in the construction of New York State’s most anticipated new family vacation destination for adventure seekers of all ages,” said Brian Czarnecki, Camelback Resort chief operating officer. “Thanks to the hard work and ingenuity of our world-class construction team, we are right on track to bring this exciting project to completion early next year.”

The topping-off ceremony marks the symbolic completion of the structural phase of the building, which includes two acres of four-season indoor waterpark space and a luxury hotel with 324 guest suites. The project, which is located on the Resorts World Catskills campus, is expected to cost in excess of $150 million.
