NARROWSBURG, NY — Passersby on June 7 had the opportunity to watch the creation of a large stone man in front of the Narrowsburg Union.  Wayne Holbert of Holbert Brothers Bluestone and his crew assembled the large sculpture to call attention to an upcoming event.

Organized by local artist Pat Carullo, the event is billed as the “First Annual Citizens for Water, a combined art, educational and fundraising event, free events, awards and live streaming will feature innovative art/tech installations and tributes to citizens dedicated to the protection of the Delaware River and the earth.”

The event will be held from September 21 to 30, and will feature “a giant free-standing 360 degree video cube, Holographic projections, bluestone giants, bald eagles and other local denizens inside the Union’s Delaware Hall.”

According to an advertisement for the event, “there will be full-wall video projections, district art objects, performance events and silent auction artworks. The 10 day celebration will also highlight area youth and include educational forums and stories told by citizens performing public service for environmental protection.”

The event will also help raise funds for Damascus Citizens for Citizens for Sustainability.
