DEC issues CPV permit, Metzger comments

Press release from State Senator Jen Metzger:

This afternoon, the DEC issued a certificate of completion for the Competitive Power Ventures (CPV) Title V permit application, which opens a 45-day public comment period. The DEC will also be scheduling at least one public hearing, but has yet to announce the date(s). I intend to submit comments, and plan to enter into the official record the results of the health survey conducted by my office in February-March 2019, which catalogues numerous health complaints from 79 residents in the surrounding area. The most frequent issues reported were chronic headache and cough.

I remain deeply concerned about the impacts of CPV on the surrounding residents and on the environment, and I continue to publicly question CPV’s suitability as an applicant. I strongly encourage affected residents to submit comments and to testify at the hearings. Public comments must be submitted in writing no later than July 12, 2019. Comments can be submitted to:
