I have to start off by saying I am sorry there was no column last week. I was in Wayne Memorial Hospital from Saturday to Tuesday. I was sitting in Two Guys from Italy eating a nice lunch with my brother’s girlfriend, Debbie, when my ear popped and my throat started to vibrate and my face went numb. It did not happen once or twice; it happened five times, and it had happened a few times the week before. I very calmly said to Debbie, “I think I am having a stroke; I am going to the ER.”

When I got to the ER my face was still numb. They ran some tests and admitted me. To make a long story short, I have mastoiditis, which is a infection of the Mastoid bone that is part of your skull by the ear. I also popped my ear drum and my lymph nodes were also infected. Thank God it was not a stroke. They put me on IV antibiotics, pills and eardrops. I am feeling much better and will be seeing a specialist the Wednesday before this issue hits the stands.
