Cochecton was busy on Saturday with the Lake Huntington Fire Co. spaghetti dinner and the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church penny social. Thank you to all who came out to make these events possible. When an organization puts on an event, it’s a lot of work. I personally would like to thank everyone who worked so hard.

I was not able to attend either event; my sister was up for the weekend, and we had a busy time. I drove a friend down to Kennedy Airport on Friday. As I was on the way back my sister was coming upstate, so we met in Middletown. We spent the night shopping and went out to dinner. We didn’t get home until midnight. On Saturday we went to Alissa Smith, the medium, to get our dreams analyzed. We learned a lot.

Sunday we went to my niece Lisa Conte’s bridal shower. It’s Sunday night, and I am tired; waking up tomorrow morning is not going to be fun.

On Saturday, July 14, there will be a Turtle Trot 10k and 10k relay walk. Registration is at 6:30 a.m., and the run starts at 8 a.m. The start and finish will be at the Kenoza Lake Firehouse, and the entry fee is $25 by June 30, $30 on race day. Make checks payable to CFOS Doug Ackermann and Brenna Darling Memorial Fund; mail to April Ackermann, 322 Mueller Rd., Cochecton NY 12726. You can register online at catskillstiming.com. For information email farmerack@ya hoo.com or phone 845/701-9054. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 50 registered participants. There will be post-race refreshments for all participants, awards and raffle prizes.

Keep smiling and have a great week. Email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news. You can always check me out at riverre porter.com in Community Living.
