Elks community blood drive

LIBERTY, NY — The Liberty Elks Lodge #1545, 21 John St., will hold a community blood drive on Tuesday, June 12 from 1 to 7 p.m. All presenting donors will receive a Stewarts free ice-cream cone voucher (while supplies last) and be entered in a sweepstakes for a pair of tickets to a Friday Night Elks Dinner (drinks not included).

Access announces new director

LIBERTY, NY — Access Physical Therapy & Wellness has announced the promotion of Dr. Julie A. Benzenberg to clinic director for its office located at 1987 NY-52. Benzenberg is replacing Robert Dolney, who is relocating to become a traveling therapist.

Rebranding of the Adult Care Center

LIBERTY, NY — Sullivan County owns the former Adult Care Center, and several years ago there was talk about possibly selling it. But ultimately, county lawmakers and officials decided to go in a different direction and make significant investment and improvements at the facility. It seems that strategy has paid off.

Garbage dump leads to arrest

LIBERTY, NY — On May, 5, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Patrol was called to investigate a dumping complaint on Barton Road in the Town of Liberty. At the location, deputies met with Town Supervisor Brian Rourke, who pointed out where several bags of garbage had been thrown.

Master Gardener plant sale

LIBERTY, NY — The public is invited to the annual Master Gardener Volunteer Plant Sale on Sunday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or while supplies last. The popular Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC) fundraiser will be held at the Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Rd.
