When I sit down to write my column, I always go to the week before to see what I wrote. So funny, last week I was shut in my house because we had a snowstorm, and today it is in the 60s and beautiful out. My windows are open. I just took down my Valentine’s Day decorations and put up decorations for St. Patrick’s Day.

I used to love the month of March; not so much these days. On March 10, my mom will have been gone four years, and two years ago my husband Tommy left me on March 22. My oldest sister, Maryanne, and my younger brother Teddy want to keep me busy during March, so they convinced me to go on a family cruise to the Bahamas. We should have a good time as long as politics are not discussed.

The sign-up for the Cochecton Youth Commission trip to the Bronx Zoo is on Tuesday, March 7. The actual trip will take place on May 21. This will be a full-day trip. The bus will leave at approximately 7 a.m. and return in the late evening. At this time, sign-ups are for Cochecton Youth and their immediate family only. Space may be limited. If the bus is filled, a waiting list will be utilized. Details on cost will follow.

I would like to wish Joe and Maria Meyer a very happy and healthy 65th wedding anniversary. That’s a really long time. They are blessed to have each other for so long; some of us do not get that, and some marriages do not last that long. My oldest brother got married at the age of 16, and they said it would never last. With a strong family behind him, he is a father of three, grandfather of seven and a great-grandfather of one, with another great-grandchild on the way, and married 46 years.

This seems like a sibling column. The only other sibling I have is the youngest of the five of us, my brother Christopher, who is a famous Drag Queen: Ariel Sinclare. Google him—he is a hoot.
Please keep Dolores Manaseri in your prayers.

Happy belated birthday to Brenda Esselman; hope you had a great day. If it’s your birthday and you want me to put you in the paper, email me.

Have a great week and email leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
