They say it’s not long till daylight saving time and spring, but who are "they"? It is nice to get out of work and it’s not pitch dark. Everyone knows March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day; in my youth, it was a wild and crazy day. Right down the block from where I lived, there was a bar called Kerrigan’s—my home away from home. My father would say, “Why don’t you just move your bed there?” Kerrigan’s is where I have so many great memories. St. Patrick’s Day is now a working day with my brother and the Knights of Columbus.

There will be a St. Patrick’s corned-beef-and-cabbage dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at Lakeview Pizzeria & Bar in Lake Huntington. For more info, call 845/932-8131. Come enjoy a delicious Irish home-cooked meal and show your green pride. “Luck be your belly tonight!”

Sunday, March 17th, Knights of Columbus’ St. Patrick’s Day lunch will be held at 1 p.m. at the Holy Cross Church. Tickets for lunch and dessert cost $15 adults, $10 kids and free for children under six. For more information, call GK Teddy at 845/252-3630. Come on out so I can say hello to you after a winter stuck in the house.

The Sullivan West Musical Production Club is performing “Once Upon a Mattress” on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9 at 7 p.m., and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 10. The show will be in The Sullivan West High School auditorium in Lake Huntington. Tickets are available at the door or by contacting Jenna Sayers at 845/932-8401 EXT. 1256, or email at sayersjen@swcsd.org. Adults pay $10, students $6 and seniors get in for free.

Please keep the family of Stan Rembish in your thoughts and prayers; Stan passed away over the weekend.

Keep smiling and have a great week. You can e-mail me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
