Just when I was about to give up all hope, spring has sprung. Although Mother Nature isn’t quite ready to commit, there’s no denying that winter will be beating a not-so-hasty retreat over the next few weeks, as the snows melt and that big yellow ball in the sky peeks out from time to time.

Nearly half a million for Jeff farm

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Augmenting a $5,000 grant from the Delaware Highlands Conservancy, Sullivan County will funnel $491,250 in New York State funds to a Jeffersonville farm to preserve agricultural land, protect a municipal water supply and boost agritourism.

The weather outside was frightful

JEFFERSONVILLE & NARROWSBURG, NY — It was a foggy night, and Santa was not able to get the Santa Express to Jeffersonville or Narrowsburg last weekend. But not to be a disappointment, Santa is hitching up his Express to visit in Jeffersonville on December 23 at 5 p.m. and will arrive in Narrowsburg at 7 p.m.

Holiday sale for book lovers

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The Jeffersonville Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library will hold a holiday book sale from December 8 to 15, during library hours. Sullivan West Elementary pitches in

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Students at Sullivan West Elementary School collected 2,287 non-perishable food items, which they then donated to local food pantries, including the Ecumenical Food Pantry in Narrowsburg. “Some children used their own allowances to purchase items,” said Joann Lettendre.

James Dworetsky Parade

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — Jeffersonville’s holiday celebrations will begin on Friday, November 23 with the 24th annual James Dworetsky Holiday Parade on Main Street. Line-up for the parade will be at 6 p.m. at the Sullivan West School Jeffersonville Campus.
