Kenoza Lake man arrested for starting fire

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — A Kenoza Lake man has been arrested for intentionally starting a fire at the Sunoco Country Store in Jeffersonville.

According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, Jacques Pluss, 65, is accused of damaging a fuel line from a propane tank at the rear of the store on September 29 and igniting the leaking fuel.

Farm Fest 2018

JEFFERSONVILLE — Last weekend Hilly Acres Farm opened its doors for its annual family-fun day at the farm. According to Tanya Hahn, who runs the farm with her husband Andy and son Mike, the multi-generation family farm does this to raise community awareness of agriculture and to offer a first-hand farm experience.

Four ribbon cuttings at Jeff Jamboree

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — As if the duck race, tractor parade, laser tag, pie contest and more weren’t enough at last weekend’s Jeff Jamboree, there were no fewer than four, count ‘em, four, ribbon cuttings in the village on that day, marking a surge of local entrepreneurship and creativity in the town.

Wine tasting

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — 52 & Vine Wine & Spirits will be holding a  wine tasting on Saturday, September 15 between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. as part of the Jeff Jamboree. The venue is 4921 State Rte. 52, in the newly renovated building that the store moved into this past June.

Jeff Jamboree: ducks, tractors, laser tag and more

JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The Jeff Jamboree on Saturday, September 15 will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. At 10 a.m., bakers participating in the “Best Baked Pie Contest” may drop off entries at the Jeffersonville Firehouse. At 11:30 winners will be announced, and a pie auction will follow.

Police shut down unpermitted concert

JEFFERSONVILE, NY — The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office shut down a concert that has been held since 2014 without a permit. The religious concert, called “The Camping Trip,” had grown to a three-day festival, featuring some 14 music acts this year, held on property on Sickmiller Road. just outside Jeffersonville.
