On my way to the post office a couple of weeks ago, I ran into Helen Reith Barr, a woman I have known since I first moved here 40 years ago. We chatted and caught up a little bit. We talked about the newspaper and what kinds of news the readers of The River Reporter needed.

Getting older

Getting older may come as a surprise. One keeps going at a nice pace until one day the engine doesn’t stoke up as well. In a short time, the legs start to complain and the arthritis makes the muscles yell. As getting around gets more difficult, we need to be more mindful of weather conditions, and not venture out when it is slippery.

Holistic aging

LIBERTY, NY — The public is invited to a web seminar titled “Holistic Aging: Mind, Body, & Soul” on Monday, March 19. Cornell Cooperative Extension Sullivan County (CCESC)’s Caregiver Resource Center offers this free program from 6 to 7 p.m. at its Extension Education Center on 64 Ferndale-Loomis Rd.
