HARRIS, NY — Catskill Regional Medical Group (CRMG) will expand its hospitalist services to Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) beginning November 1. Hospitalists are board-certified internists who devote their practice to the care of hospitalized patients. The Medical Group will provide coordinated and high-quality care to the hospitalist program, which was previously serviced through a third-party.

The Catskill Regional Medical Group is part of the Greater Hudson Valley Health System (GHVHS), an expanding healthcare provider with a proven success record. Orange Regional Medical Group is also part of the GHVHS. At present, the entire group includes more than 90 physicians practicing in 16 clinical specialty areas.

“As the Medical Group has grown, the tremendous advancements we have made in staffing have provided the resources necessary to take on this expanded and vitally important role,” said Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group CEO Gerard Galarneau, MD.

CRMG hospitalists will work in tandem with a patient’s primary care physician, closely coordinating most aspects of their inpatient care. The hospitalist program at Catskill Regional will align CRMG and CRMC for a continuum of care that will enhance communication on patient care and facilitate important education among the healthcare provider and physician, the patient and his or her family at every step, enabling them discuss any significant findings or events during the patient’s hospitalization.
