Understanding bullets

For many shooters, our choice ammo is often “what can we get the most bang for our buck?” This often means we are going for the lowest cost per round, and this will likely lead most of us to full metal jacket ammunition.

Shooting range now open

It’s called the “3Bs Indoor Shooting Range,” and the “Bs” stand for Bows Bullets and BBs. It offers just about anything any kind of shooter could be looking for. The spanking new facility, which was completed in September, is located just behind the plaza that holds the Pennsyltucky Grill.

Hudson Valley March for Our Lives

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY — On a sunny spring day that could not have been more perfect, a crisp, light chill from the Hudson River blew across the faces of approximately 8,000 participants as they marched across the walkway over the Hudson beginning on the Poughkeepsie side.

Celebrating the National Art Education Association’s Youth Arts Month, the Delaware Valley (DV) Art Department chair, Stephanie Cavallaro, center, introduced the officers for the district’s newly formed chapter of the National Art Honor Society: President Julia Thompson, left, and Vice-President Kiki Ruggiero. Both spoke at the March 15 DV Board of Education meeting, describing the importance of the arts and their teachers in setting direction in their lives. Cavallaro, a 34-year veteran on the DV faculty, has announced that she will retire at the end of current school year. 
 

Safety trumped DV Enough! School Walkout

SHOHOLA, PA — Meeting on the day after the March 14, Enough! National School Walkout to protest gun violence, Delaware Valley (DV) officials said safety issues led administrators to oppose a demonstration at DV. Students instead were encouraged to put their grievances in writing to state and federal legislators.

Students make rash of threats

ELDRED, NY — In the wake of the shooting of 17 high school students and staff in Parkland, FL, at least three student threats have been investigated in recent days by the New York State Police.

An Eldred student was charged on February 26 with making a terroristic threat.
