It has been a busy couple of weeks for good ol’ N’burg, NY.  The New Narrowsburg (Newrosburg?) Farmers’ Market has proven to be a success, with lines at several vendors Saturday morning.

Historic railroad excursion for Mother’s Day

SCRANTON, PA — The Steamtown National Historic Site (NHS) presents a scenic ride to the Pocono foothills. On Sunday, May 12, the trip departs from NHS at 1:30 and returns at 3:30 p.m.

Wildly creative masks and puppets propelled the story of “How the Sea and the Mountain Became Friends” in Arm-Of-The-Sea’s “The Rejuvenary River Circus” presented last weekend at the Tusten Theatre in Narrowsburg, NY.

Last week was all about the kids. My schedule originally called for spending time outdoors, but the mercurial nature of spring in the Catskills had different plans, and with the onset of a late April snow, I switched gears and headed for the Tusten Theater in Narrowsburg, NY.

There’s a lot of wisdom in that old adage, which concludes with “don’t say anything at all,” but there are times when my hands are tied and I simply can’t ignore what I’m thinking. “Sure you can,” I say to myself in the mirror with a wink.

Oscar nom at the Callicoon Theater

CALLICOON, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) and The Callicoon Theater will screen the Oscar-nominated film “The Favourite” as part of the 2019 winter film series CineArt from February 8 to 14.

The showing of this documentary will be the first iteration of the DVAA’s Saturday free art events.

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance 2019 Salon Series, featuring free art events on Saturday afternoons, kicks off at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9 with a documentary called “More Art Upstairs.”
