Butterfly walk and plant and sip

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will host a butterfly walk on Saturday, August 25 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Learn about the wonderful world of butterflies with David Trently, on a search through the fields and around the ponds for butterflies and dragonflies. Registration is required. The cost is $5.

Edible and medicinal plant walk

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will offer an edible and medicinal plant walk on Sunday, August 19 from 1 to 3 p.m. Nature provides food and natural remedies for us in the form of many plants. Go on a hike where you will learn how to identify such plants.

Frog Frolic at PEEC

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), 538 Emery Rd., will host a Frog Frolic on Sunday, June 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. Spend the afternoon with us at our ponds and streams. Learn about some of our frog friends as participants gently catch and release these hopping amphibians. Wear boots and plan on getting wet and muddy.

Fun at PEEC

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — You can combine fun with learning activities at the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) this summer, starting with “Introduction to Blacksmithing,” taught by William Barrett of the New Jersey Blacksmiths Association, on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.

History of Minisink-Pocono art

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Dingmans Ferry-Delaware Township Historical Society will host artist Marie Liu for a presentation about the history of art of the Minisink-Pocono region on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m. at the Delaware Township Municipal Building. Liu was the resident artist of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in 2015-16.

Edible plants walk

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC), 538 Emery Rd, will host a Bridge the Gap Edible & Medicinal Plant Walk on Sunday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The event is free.

Sugar Shack Scramble, orienteering

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will host Sugar Shack Scramble, a hike through the woods out to the Two Saps Sugar Shack, on Sunday, March 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In addition to the hiking, you’ll enjoy hot cocoa and pancakes with fresh maple syrup. You can sign up for a 9 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. start time.

Skiing and eagle watching

DINGMANS FERRY, PA — Cross-country skiing will continue at the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) in February, including a Bridge the Gap session, “Ski the McDade Trail,” which is free thanks to funding provided by the William Penn Foundation, on Saturday, February 10.
