Amawalk revisited

As fly fishers, we all have favorite rivers. Sometimes, one or more of those rivers plays a significant role in our lives, a role that isn’t evident in the first years. For me, that river was Amawalk Outlet.

Proposed changes for watershed regs

NEW YORK CITY, NY — The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has announced four public hearings to solicit input on proposed changes to its watershed regulations. The regulations seek to protect public health by preventing contamination and degradation of New York City’s water supply.

Dam talks will go on

HONESDALE, PA — Appearing at an ordered September 19 hearing, state and county attorneys agreed and Wayne County Senior Judge Raymond Hamill granted their motion to continue the hearing on the Hankins Pond Dam demolition for 60 days.

Reservoirs open for fishing

NEW YORK STATE —  The New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) wants to remind the public that now that trout season has begun anglers have the opportunity to fish at the its reservoirs or dozens of other properties it owns with access to streams rivers and lakes in the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley.
