REGION — This October marks the 100th anniversary of the date when people in all five New York City boroughs celebrated receiving some of the cleanest unfiltered water in the world from the Catskill Mountains through a complex network of aqueducts, reservoirs and tunnels.
HONESDALE, PA — The historic 168 year old Congregation Beth Israel, located at 615 Court St., will soon celebrate the Jewish New Year, and all are welcome to join. Founded in 1849, the congregation met in homes until the synagogue was built in 1856 on land donated by the Delaware and Hudson Canal Company.
