Looking Back 7/5

The Glass Factory School was located in Dyberry Township, in the area known since the very early days of Wayne County as the “Old Glass Factory Road” or “Coffee-Pot Road.” The latter name supposedly came from the pupils at the Glass Factory School heating their lunch beverage on the school stove.

Turtle Trot 10K and relay

KENOZA LAKE, NY — The Turtle Trot 10K and 10K relay will take place on Saturday, July 14, with the walk starting at 7:30 a.m. and the run starting at 8 a.m. Both start and finish at the Kenoza Lake Firehouse. There will be T-shirts for the first 50 registered participants, post-race refreshments, awards and raffle prizes.

Have you noticed all the balloons decorating Narrowsburg’s intersections this week? It is a festive indication of all the graduation parties being held in backyards around town. We enjoyed some devilled eggs, pasta salad, and s’mores at Will and Vanessa Reeves’ last week, celebrating their oldest daughter Ally’s graduation from high school.
