UPPER DELAWARE RIVER — Upper Delaware River Basin Citizens (UDRBC) will undertake its first annual river cleanup on Friday, August 17. The section chosen for the cleanup will be between Milanville and Narrowsburg. T-shirts will be handed out to those who register online.
The event will start off at 9 a.m. at locations between Skinners Falls and Narrowsburg, so you are asked to muster at the Lander’s Narrowsburg Campgrounds no later than 8:15 a.m. to register and get ready for the day. Lander’s will be providing shuttle service for the volunteers and groups who will be dropped off at various locations; Lander’s shuttles will be running all day during the event for pickup as well, and Lang Enviroventures will provide the containers and equipment needed for collection of garbage and debris during the sweep.
There will be a barbeque after the cleanup, at approximately 3 p.m. It will be held at the old airplane hangar at Lander’s Narrowsburg Campground, where all rafts and boats will arrive. There will be pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers and hot dogs, along with soft drinks.
