Sullivan Kiwanis spread cheer

MONTICELLO, NY — The Kiwanis Club of Monticello and its sponsored service leadership clubs were busy this holiday season.

Members of the Kiwanis Club collected games and toys to be distributed to local families in need by the United Way of Sullivan County. The RJK Middle School Builders Club participated in the school’s Holiday Care Project by purchasing toys, games and clothing for students in their school district, using funds collected from the Valentine’s Day dance the group hosted last year.

The Monticello High School Key Club continued its annual tradition of assisting the Salvation Army in brightening the holiday season by ringing the bell and collecting money in front of Walmart.

The Aktion Club of Sullivan County—comprised of individuals from SullivanARC,  Center for Discovery and New Hope Community—traveled to Liberty to entertain the residents of Achieve Nursing and Rehab Center. “It was a very active, but most rewarding month for all,” said Monticello Kiwanis public relations chairperson Sheila Lashinsky.
