BARRYVILLE, NY/SHOHOLA, PA — The Barryville Area Arts Association is gathering local artists for an exhibit on escaping the past and realizing our dreams for the future. “New Beginnings” will open January 5, with complimentary refreshments, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Artists’ Market Community Center, 114 Richardson Ave.

“Art can raise our awareness, and move us toward reconsidering the world in a new perspective,” the arts association wrote in a release about the exhibit, which will feature artwork, poetry and music. The collective is also offering artists, poets and musicians the chance to share their insights on the theme.
