MILFORD, PA — The Milford Community House is now ready to operate as a visitors and community center, after years of careful restoration and interior rehabilitation. The building will house a new visitors center, for non-profit partners and a community meeting room.
The Community House Visitor Center will be operated in partnership with the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau. A newly restored meeting room is open to any public group on a reservation basis, offices for United Way, Autism, Greater Pike Community Foundation, and a place for the Lion’s Club and the Milford Garden Club whose volunteers help revitalize the town’s gardens. There are also temporary toilets for public use, which the board of trustees intends to upgrade to permanent as soon as current debt is retired and new funds become available. (See letter on page 6.)
