Sullivan Catskills 2019 Travel Guide now available

LIBERTY, NY — The Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association (SCVA) has released its annual travel guide. This year’s guide features a full-color illustration inspired by the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Arts Festival. The 100-page publication offers facts and photos of the original Woodstock festival while highlighting accommodations, arts, culture, historic locations, outdoor adventure and dining. The travel guide is available at all rest areas on the NYS Thruway (I-87) and I-81 and at SCVA member-business locations throughout the Sullivan Catskills. Wayne Bank holds sock drive

LIBERTY, NY — Wayne Bank’s Monticello and Liberty community offices are holding a sock drive to support the 2019 Soldiers’ Angels Warm Feet for Warriors campaign. The drive will run through May 31, and all donations will be distributed to veterans in VA hospitals and care packages for service members. Socks in their original packaging can be dropped at either bank during normal business hours.

 



 

Auction to Fund Scholarships for the local “Stars of Tomorrow”

PORT JERVIS, NY — The Business & Professional Women’s Club of Port Jervis will hold their 18th annual “Stars of Tomorrow” Tricky Tray on Saturday, March 9 at the Port Jervis High School. Thanks to the success of their auction, the club has awarded $263,500 in scholarships to 200 Port Jervis and Delaware Valley seniors in the last 17 years.

 



 

Students to perform in the annual All-County Music Festival

 LIBERTY, NY — On Saturday, March 2, Liberty High School will host the annual Sullivan County Music Educator’s All-County Music Festival. Chosen by audition, 131 students from elementary, middle and high schools within the Monticello Central School District will perform amongst the county’s most accomplished musicians. The elementary chorus, middle school band and orchestra will perform at 2:30 p.m. The junior high band and senior high jazz ensemble, mixed and treble chorus will perform at 5 p.m.

 



 

DIY sausage making at Here & Now Brewing Company

HONESDALE, PA — On Tuesday, March 5 from 6 to 9 p.m., the Here & Now Brewing Company, at 645 Main St., will host a do-it-yourself sausage making workshop. Led by Here and Now’s head chef Ben Cooper, the workshop is part of The Cooperage Project’s monthly DIY classes.
