‘Reservoir’ raises more than $8,000 for farms
CALLICOON, NY — After tallying up the sales of the “Reservoir” silent auction and art exhibit November 17, organizer Derick Melander said the event raised more than $8,000 for FarmHearts, a non-profit initiative to support small farms in Sullivan County.
The exhibit was held at the Apple Barn, a two-story building in Callicoon that was once an apple warehouse. About 80% of the work of 57 mostly local artists was sold, and more than 200 people came through on Saturday alone, the opening reception of the two-day exhibit. “There was great energy and good traffic,” Melander said. “It was a true creative show of strength for our community.” For more information visit www.instagram.com/CallicoonAppleBarn and www.FarmHeartsNY.org.
