Keeping seniors happy in their homes and active in their communities

REGION — Growing Older Together (GOT) is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization that provides members, aged 60 and older, both the practical means and the social connections to live independently in their homes.

If you live in the Narrowsburg, Honesdale, Hawley, Hamlin, Waymart, or Lackawaxen area and could use assistance with things like grocery shopping, organizing closets or paperwork, moving light items to the attic or cellar, friendly visits, or transportation, consider a membership in GOT. Services to dues-paying members are provided by screened and trained volunteers.

Additional benefits for members include GOT-hosted monthly presentations from April through October on topics of interest to seniors, such as successful aging, hearing loss and senior scams, as well as social events like potluck dinners and teas. Upcoming events include a chair yoga class, a reading from a senior memoir writing group and travelogues from various GOT members who have retraced the trail of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, traveled to Africa and visited the Galapagos Islands.

GOT is always looking for engaged volunteers to provide services for members. Our volunteers forge connections and friendships with members who are grateful for the assistance they receive and the time they spend with the volunteers.

For more information, to enjoy the benefits of membership, or to volunteer to help seniors stay in their homes and remain active in our communities, visit www.got.clubexpress.com or call 570/630-0509.
