In memory of Jake Freiermuth

BEACH LAKE, PA — On Wednesday, May 29 from 1 to 6 p.m., the Beach Lake Fire Company is hosting a blood drive in its meeting hall in memory of Jake Freiermuth who passed away in a car accident September 2016. He was a regular blood donor and, as an organ donor, he helped four individuals.

Tour the mysteries of the universe

HAWLEY, PA — Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble (BTE) will perform “Star Tours! Explore the Mysteries of the Universe,” its 41st annual Theatre in the Classroom production, at Hawley Public Library on Thursday, May 30 at 4 p.m.

“Star Tours!” is an informative and playful show that explores the solar system, the history of humans’ observations of outer space, the particulars of space travel and more.

Social media workshop

BETHEL, NY — On Wednesday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, the Catskill Distilling Company at the Dancing Cat Saloon will host a social media workshop, covering topics like hashtags, tagging, Facebook events and how to utilize user-generated content.

Sullivan County Youth Book Festival

MONTICELLO, NY — The inaugural Sullivan County Youth Book Festival will take place on Saturday, May 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m to celebrate books for infants through young adults. There will be more than 20 authors and illustrators, readings in Vera’s Story Garden, workshops, musical guests, crafts, face paintings, character meet-and-greets and more.
