New hotel breaks ground at Chapin Estate

BETHEL, NY — The investors of The Chatwal Lodge held a ground-breaking ceremony on December 5. The lodge, developed by the Dream Hotel Group will be established on 26 acres located within the Chapin Estate gated community along the shores of the Toronto Reservoir.

Bethel, NY — Well, that was fast. I’m still eating Thanksgiving leftovers and putting away the last of the pots and pans required to make my world-famous “mock apple pie” (snackworks.com). The pie started out as a joke (It’s made entirely from Ritz crackers), but has become a holiday tradition among my friends.

Aletheia Piano Trio concludes Shandelee season

BETHEL, NY — Shandelee Music Festival (SMF) concludes its 25th anniversary season with the Aletheia Piano Trio in a P.L.A.Y the Classics concert at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Sunday, October 7 at 3 p.m. The concert will feature the music of Mozart, Faure and Shostakovich, and will be followed by a specialty dessert reception.

BETHEL, NY — There will be a fundraiser for the benefit of Dottie Roycroft at Hector’s Inn in Bethel on Saturday, September 22, at 7 p.m. Roycroft has been battling cancer since September 2017, and she has chronicled the process on a Facebook page called “My Cancer Journey” (tinyurl.com/ybtwooq5).
