Holding onto valley heritage

BARRYVILLE, NY — There was a brief dedication ceremony of a new historic roadside marker for the former Delaware and Hudson Canal on April 24. The marker is located on State Route 97 at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation river access, which is being developed just below Cedar Rapids, above Barryville.

Barryville Farmers' Market closing

BARRYVILLE, NY — After operating for 14 years, the Barryville Farmers' Market is shutting down and moving to Narrowsburg.

According to a social media post from the market manager Greg Swartz, the market’s agreement with the River Market was not renewed in December 2018.

New beginnings in art

BARRYVILLE, NY/SHOHOLA, PA — The Barryville Area Arts Association is gathering local artists for an exhibit on escaping the past and realizing our dreams for the future. “New Beginnings” will open January 5, with complimentary refreshments, 4 to 6 p.m. at the Artists’ Market Community Center, 114 Richardson Ave.

Barryville lights up

BARRYVILLE, NY — Barryville’s Christmas/Holiday tree at the fishing access cul-de-sac off of River Road was lit on December 1. Volunteers from the Artists’ Market Community and the Greater Barryville Chamber of Commerce provided the decorations.
