Sullivan County Community Chorus takes on Mozart

Posted

LIBERTY, NY — The Sullivan County Community Chorus, under the direction of conductor Kevin Giroux, will perform its annual winter concert December 9 at 2:30 p.m. in the David E. Panebaker Auditorium at Liberty High School.

The theme of the concert is “The Reflective Genius of Mozart.” Giroux has selected works that span Mozart’s brief career, including the Coronation Mass and sections from the Requiem. The performance will also feature an orchestra and the Sullivan Chamber Singers, selected by audition from the chorus.

The community chorus is made up of members from throughout Sullivan, Ulster and Orange counties from 15 to more than 80 years old. A suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students will be taken at the door. After the performance, everyone is invited to a reception. In case of bad weather, the snow date will be December 16 at the same time and place. Visit the chorus on Facebook or at its website, scchorus.org. For more information call Diane Foster at 945/439-4458.
