Nero, Mullen, Switko open at The Union

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Narrowsburg Union hosted a triple gallery opening on Saturday, September 1, with exhibits of the work of Emma Switko (top) at the Owl Gallery Ula Nero (center) at the Eagle Gallery and Kym Mullen (bottom) at the Hawk Gallery.

All three women are local artists. Switko, born and raised in the Catskill Mountains, derives her inspiration from 1950s and ‘60s-era animation. Nero, born in Poland but now living in Wayne County, PA, exhibited a variety of works, some reflecting her fascination with Native American culture, others inspired by landscapes and animals of the local region. Mullen, raised in Parksville, grew up on a farm, started painting on tools in high school and is still at it; the current exhibit focuses on her paintings on saws.
