Left Bank opens new show

LIBERTY, NY — The Left Bank gallery will open a new show on Saturday, August 4, featuring sculpture by Nancy Lew Lee, paintings by Richard Kreznar, sculpture by Naomi Teppich, paintings by Kathe Frantz and Charles Farless, and collages from Columbian artist Vivian Pantoja.

Housed in the old bank building, a historic 1800s structure on the corner of North Main and School streets , the name Left Bank is a call back to the Left Bank of Paris, France—a place that was once home to great playwrights, authors, painters and composers. The name is also a play on words, as the massive vault from the building’s time as a bank still dominates the rear wall of the main floor.

The Left Bank now shows new work monthly, three days a week, with free admission. The space is large enough for all kinds of work, from six-foot tall oil paintings to sculpture and woodwork. The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., every week. For more information call 845/866-6000.
