JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The Jeff Jamboree on Saturday, September 15 will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. At 10 a.m., bakers participating in the “Best Baked Pie Contest” may drop off entries at the Jeffersonville Firehouse. At 11:30 winners will be announced, and a pie auction will follow.

At 12 noon, a dog parade will assemble at Justus Automotive, stepping off at 12:15 p.m. Leashes are required; dog costumes are not, but you are welcome to dress up your pooch. The tractor parade will roll down Main Street at 12:30 p.m. with Harold Russell, admired local agriculturalist, as grand marshal.

New this year, “Birds of Prey,” a live bird show presentation, will be offered by the Delaware Valley Raptors at the Jeffersonville Firehouse beginning at 1:15 p.m. Then the perennial favorite, the duck race, will start at 2:30 p.m. at the Mill Pond on Callicoon Creek as hundreds of rubber ducks take to the water. Tickets for the race can be purchased at the event or before September 15 through any JEMS member, at Jeffersonville businesses, or by calling 845/482-4600. Prizes ranging from $50 to $300 will be announced following the race.

Jeffersonville’s own, author Billy Moloney, will be available to sell and sign his new book, “Confessions of a Crime Scene Investigator.” There’ll be laser tag at The Backyard Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. And all day long, restaurants will offer a variety of cuisines, there’ll be ice cream stands, a rock-climbing wall, craft vendors, complimentary horse-and-carriage rides, psychic readings and more.
