HAWLEY, PA — The Hawley Harvest Hoedown will take place on Saturday, October 13 starting at 10 a.m., including cider tastings, brews, contests, demonstrations, family activities, crafts, day and night entertainment, a petting zoo, and fresh locally grown foods and local business specials.
This will be the second year for the fall-crawl beer tour, which will take place over the entire Hawley Harvest Hoedown weekend. Participants win a commemorative beer mug upon completion of the fall crawl. Fall Crawl Beer Tour cards will be available at participating bars and at the Wallenpaupack Visitors Center.
The event concludes at 7:30 p.m. at the Ritz Theater with the fourth annual Hawley Hoedown Bluegrass and Folk Concert, produced by the Downtown Hawley Partnership. This year’s line-up includes Man About a Horse, Serene Green, and Hickory Project.
Hickory Project’s hard-driving traditional and original acoustic music is deeply rooted in bluegrass, yet unpredictably mixes Celtic, jazz, swing, Appalachian and blues with a rock-solid foundation. Serene Green is on a mission to preserve one of America’s greatest traditions, with respect and gratitude for bluegrass pioneers such as Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs. Man About a Horse’s music reflects the wide range of influences on this Philadelphia-based band, from blues and rock to classical and pop, all blended together by a traditional bluegrass lineup.
Tickets cost $18 to $25, and can be purchased in person at Doodles & Main on 121 Main Ave. during their business hours or at hawleyharvesthoedown.com.
