HONESDALE, PA — On Wednesday, November 21, from 7 to 9 p.m., The Cooperage at 1030 Main St. will host an acoustic bluegrass jam for musicians of all levels. For those who aren’t musically inclined, sit back and enjoy the melodies.
On Friday, November 23, 12 noon to 2 p.m., local musician Charlie Pykus will release his sophomore album, Chevron. Pykus is currently studying guitar performance and music technology at Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. Playing for more than nine years and well versed in a variety of guitar styles, Pykus is notable for his bluesy, electrifying, fast-paced original instrumentals. On Saturday November 24, learn to Contra dance with a beginner lesson starting at 7:15 p.m. and dancing starting at 7:30 p.m. Contra dance is a folk dance made up of long lines of couples. It has mixed origins from English country dance, Scottish and French dance styles in the 17th century, with strong African influence from Appalachia.
