Crookston and da Costa in Forestburgh

FORESTBURGH, NY — One of New York’s finest performers and songwriters, Joe Crookston, and one of Nashville’s most honest songwriters, Anthony da Costa, are doing their first tour together since they were both chosen as the “Falcon Ridge Most Wanted to Return Artists” in 2008. They will be playing both together and solo. The final performance of their four-night reunion tour will be a concert presented by RiverFolk Concerts, to take place at the Forestburgh Tavern on Sunday, September 23 at 5 p.m.

Crookston (www.joecrookston.com) will perform original songs on fiddle and slide guitar. He will also display original paintings and multi-media visual artwork. Crookston’s recording, “Able Baker Charlie & Dog,” is filled with story songs from a Rockefeller songwriting grant and was awarded “Album of the Year” by the International Folk Alliance in Memphis, TN.

Da Costa (www.anthonydacos ta.com) has toured extensively with Grammy-winning performers such as Sarah Jarosz and Americana darling, Aoife O’Donovan. He has shared the stage with well-known music legends from Judy Collins to Kenny Loggins, played major festivals and late-night shows (“Conan”) and written songs with hit-makers such as Steve Poltz.

Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and can be purchased at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/3593977. For more information visit www.river folkconcerts.com.
