PORT JERVIS, NY — The River Valley Artists Guild will present its fall show, “Autumn Spectacular!,” from October 1 to November 26. The show celebrates visual beauty of autumn found in Orange County in a variety of mediums. Art will be on view at four venues.

The art of Rena Hottinger will be shown at the city hall (in the mayor’s office, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Now living in the Poconos, Hottinger utilizes multiple mediums including watercolor, acrylic, soft pastel, charcoal, clay, collage and floral design. At Bon Secours, you will find Judith Weiss’ fall-themed expressionistic paintings (Monday through Friday, 8 to 4 p.m. in the first floor cafeteria). Weiss says of her work, “Growing up in a family florist and landscaping business that still thrives today, it is through the natural environment of earth, rock and water, and the plant world that I express the ineffable.”

At Port Jervis Free Library, Miiller’s works will be on display (in the community room, Monday through Friday, 1 to 5 p.m.) Miiller received OCAC’s Community Arts Grant in 2018 and Orange Arts Grants in 2016, 2014 and 2009 for “Deerest Deerpark.” She has been teaching on the faculty at SUNY since 1999. Joan Kehlenbeck’s works will be shown at the Deerpark Town Hall (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) President of the River Valley Artists Guild, Kelhenbeck has shown her oil paintings and pastel drawings regionally and is well-known in the area for her demonstrations and workshops.
