HONESDALE, PA — RiverFolk Concerts welcomes the award-winning singer/songwriter Joe Jencks to The Cooperage in a long-awaited solo performance on Sunday, September 16 at 5 p.m.

“Joe Jencks is a songwriter whose craft and artistry will remind you of the best efforts of Phil Ochs, Stan Rogers and Woody Guthrie. The troubadour tradition is alive and well in the 21st century with the music of Joe Jencks.” said Ron Olesko of WFDU.

Merging conservatory training with his Irish roots and working-class upbringing, Jencks delivers engaged musical narratives filled with heart, soul, groove and grit. Having penned several number-one folk songs including “Lady of the Harbor,” Jencks is also co-founder of the harmony trio Brother Sun.

“Beyond the fine selection of songs and the talented team assembled in the studio, what really shines through on Joe Jencks’ new album are his resonant, honey-rich voice, his open-hearted humanity, and his commitment to social justice. We need artists who inspire our better selves more than ever, don’t we?” said WFUV’s John Platt of “Sunday Supper.”

The suggested donation is $20 reserved, $25 at the door. To reserve, call 845/252-6783. Doors will open at 4 p.m. with dinner fare available for purchase. BYOB. For more information www.riv erfolkconcerts.com or www.joejencks.com.
