DVAA Hires New Executive Director

NARROWSBURG — The board of directors of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) announced that Ariel Shanberg will join the organization as Executive Director in June 2017. Shanberg succeeds Elaine Giguere who co-founded and oversaw the non-profit arts organization for 42 years.

Time and the Valleys opens

GRAHAMSVILLE, NY — The Time and the Valleys Museum, 332 Main St., opens for the season on Memorial Day Weekend, May 27 and 28, from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Opening weekend activities includes a special Memorial Day “sneak peak” display of artifacts and photos from its upcoming WWI exhibit and discounts in its shop.

NACL’s 20th season kicks off with ‘Goddessey’

HIGHLAND LAKE, NY — This year NACL Theatre, 110 Highland Lake Rd., celebrates 20 years of creativity, community collaboration, and innovative performance. The season will commence with “A Goddessey” on Saturday, June 3 at 7:30 p.m., presented by the Obie and Bessie award-winning feminist acrobatic dance company LAVA.

Sunday, May 28

HAWLEY, PA — Memorial Day parade lines up at 12 noon, steps off at 1 p.m., immediately following an American Legion program at the monument, Main to Church Street to Hudson. Hot dogs at the senior center for participants.

Monday, May 29

The Chi Hive offers a variety of activities, from ballet to yoga.

New yoga studio explores eclectic expressions

The Chi Hive Studio has moved from The Narrowsburg Union to Main Street. There are still a few renovations to be done, and the signs still need to go up, but while the workspace is itself a work in progress, the studio has already established itself as a center for mindfulness, creative expression and spiritual exploration.

Train Day in Honesdale

HONESDALE, PA — Honesdale’s Train Day will take place on Saturday, May 20. You can bring the kids to Caboose Alley (behind the post office) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and then hop on board a caboose for a tour or climb aboard the engine to blow the whistle.

CFFCM holds annual dinner

ROSCOE, NY — The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM) will hold its annual dinner and auction, sponsored by Jeff Bank, on Saturday, May 27 at the Rockland House. The public is invited to participate.  Reservations are required.
