‘Life Is Not a Picnic—Make Art’

BARRYVILLE/SHOHOLA, PA — An afternoon of art and art-making, food and beverage, and building community is the vision for the “Life Is Not A Picnic—Make Art” event being coordinated by Alexis Siroc of the Barryville Area Arts Association for July 7 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Artists Market Community Center, 114 Richardson Ave.

Farrell at The Cooperage

HONESDALE, PA — Tim Farrell takes the stage at The Cooperage, 1030 Main St., on Saturday, July 7 at 7 p.m.. Through his mastery of the intricacies and melodic grace of finger-style guitar, Farrell has the rare ability to inspire listeners to experience music on a multitude of levels.

Summer reading program

MONTICELLO, NY — The Ethelbert B. Crawford Public Library’s summer reading program offers a variety of activities for kids, tweens and teens this summer. Sign-ups are in progress and activities will start Monday, July 2.

Milford’s ubiquitous ukulele songstress, Veronica Fernandez will open the show in the park at the Milford Music Festival on Sunday, June 24 with songs from her first EP, “Thoughts.” You can also see her perform at Lacquered Nail Bar and Jive Bar & Lounge on Saturday. 

Milford Music Festival

MILFORD, PA — The 2018 Milford Music Festival takes place Friday through Sunday this weekend, featuring free musical performances all over town. The event was first established in 2002 as the Milford Jazz Festival, but has since expanded, and you are now just as likely to find blues, rock and pop playing as traditional jazz.

Contra dance at The Cooperage

HONESDALE, PA — The Cooperage, 1030 Main St., hosts a contra dance monthly between April and December, and the next one will be held on Saturday, June 30. There will be live music by Jeanne Wassman, Judy Trudgen and Donna Lee Gregor. Caller Laurie B. will do a beginner lesson starting at 7:15 p.m., and the dancing will start at 7:30 p.m.

‘Much Ado About Nothing’

HONESDALE, PA — The Shakespeare on Film Series features “Much Ado About Nothing” on Thursday, June 28 at 7 p.m. Dr. Robert Dugan will introduce the play with a brief background and orientation. After the screening, there will be an opportunity for impressions and sharing.

Free theatre camp

LAKEVILLE, PA — The Lakeside Players will hold their 14th annual free theater camp Monday through Friday, July 9 to 13 and July 16 and 20 at Lakeville Community Hall, Route 590 (between the firehouse and the United Methodist Church).
