HONESDALE — On Saturday July 14, 2018 The Cooperage will be the headquarters for July’s Second Saturday Honesdale, when Sweetbriar Rose, featuring Arrah Fisher, will perform starting at 7 p.m. The Cooperage will also sell T-shirts, food and beverages with the proceeds to help fund Second Saturday.
The Americana-tinged folk-noir band Sweetbriar Rose is a band of rootsy gypsies whom you’re equally likely to glimpse running in full sun, barefoot on a field of bluegrass, brooding in three-part harmony over a murder ballad in a shady grove, or channeling the spirit of a 1940s Balkan jazz joint. The Philadelphia Folk Song society counts Sweetbriar Rose among its “most exciting and boundary-pushing acts,” and they are gearing up to record their second record this spring, to be released in fall 2018.
The suggested donation is $10 per person. Kids under are admitted free. The Cooperage is located at 1030 Main St.
