ELLENVILLE, NY — Phil Sigunick’s paintings will be on solo exhibition at the Healing Arts Gallery at Ellenville Regional Hospital from February 6 to March 10. The show is free and open to the public, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. A reception is planned for February 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. Ellenville Regional Hospital is located at 10 Healthy Way. Sigunick (www.philsigunick.com) has attended the Boston Museum School of Fine Art, the Syracuse University College of Fine Art, the Education Alliance of NYC, the Brooklyn Museum Art School and the School of Visual Arts, NYC. He has been teacher, guest artist and/or guest lecturer at the Red Eft Gallery Wurtsboro, where he served as art director, as well as many other venues. 

According to Sigunick, “I work from sketches, photos, and direct experience to produce a work that speaks of intimacy with the subject. This doesn’t mean photographic accuracy. On the contrary, distortion, alteration and invention are all employed to reveal rather than reproduce—a form of lying to get at the truth.”
