NARROWSBURG, NY — Joanna Sit and Mary Greene will read from their new work, followed by an open discussion, on Sunday, June 3, at Forage Space on lower Main Street. Enjoy a glass of wine and an open mic to start the program.
Sit was born in Canton, China and grew up in New York City, where she lives with her husband and daughter. She studied poetry with Allen Ginsberg and Susan Fromberg Schaeffer at Brooklyn College and now teaches creative writing at Medgar Evers College, City University of New York. She is the author of “My Last Century” (2012), “In Thailand with the Apostles” (2014) and “Track Works.” Her poem “Timescape: The Age of Oz” was nominated for the Pushcart Prize in 2016.
Greene, founder of the Upper Delaware Writers Collective, received her MFA in Poetry from Brooklyn College, where she also studied with Alan Ginsberg. Greene’s poetry has appeared in regional and national journals and anthologies, and she has participated in readings and performances around the region. She is the author of the poetry volumes “In This Dream (1993),” “A Painting with You Running Through It” (2005), and “Permission” (2012), as well as a book of essays, “Women Outside: Conversations about Nature, Art & Spirit” (2010).
