CALLICOON, NY — The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) and Callicoon Theater will show Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Phantom Thread,” starring Daniel Day-Lewis, starting on Friday, March 2. The film is nominated for Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor Oscars.
Set in 1950s London, Reynolds Woodcock (Daniel Day-Lewis) is a renowned dressmaker whose fastidious life is disrupted by a young, strong-willed woman, Alma (Vickey Krieps), who becomes his muse and lover.
“Wildly inventive and perversely funny,” says Peter Travers in Rolling Stone.
“Phantom Thread” is rated R and will screen Friday, March 2 through Monday, March 5 nightly at 7:30 p.m., with matinees at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The Callicoon Theater is located at 30 Upper Main St. Admission costs $11 ($9 admission on Mondays and matinees) and $8 for children under 12 at all shows. For these CineArt presentations, a percentage of the profits and $1 per person from ticket sales benefit the programs and services of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, the Arts Council for Sullivan County.
