New Vintage Ensemble presents ‘#Vanlife’
HONESDALE, PA — Those who missed the New Vintage Ensemble at The Cooperage in April due to the immensely inclement weather can now catch their presentation of “#Vanlife” on Saturday, June 23 at 8 p.m.
In a world where the perfectly tailored photo gallery now defines your success, beauty, mature pallet, and ultimate happiness, what if your life is anything but a pretty picture? You move into a van. You become unhinged. You document everything.
New Vintage Ensemble members Casey Thomas and Kimmie Leff are Scranton natives, friends, thespians. They have based their play on a growing movement called “vanlife” and the performance style is inspired by the National Forensic League/Speech and Debate presentation. Vanlife, itself, is a growing trend amongst millennials who have renewed interest in the American road-trip mixed with the hippie lifestyle and a smattering of social media. #vanlife debuted at the 2017 Scranton Fringe Festival, was voted Best Out of Town Show at the 2018 Pittsburgh Fringe Festival in April, and is a “Recommended Show” by Fringe Review.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. This event is BYOB. The suggested donation is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. To make a reservation email: info@thecooperage project.org or call 570/253-2020.
